Read on below to find out more about the other free shooter that’s in town.
Is the Call of Duty: Vanguard free access weekend permanent?
Unfortunately, the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard free access weekend isn’t permanent. Activision is only making Vanguard available to play for free starting on November 18 through until November 22. Players also can’t preload the game to make the most out of the demo. So, if you’re interested, you’ll just have to wait until the clock strikes 1:00 PM Eastern on November 18 to start downloading the game.
Can anyone participate in the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard free access weekend?
Yes. Anyone can participate and download Call of Duty: Vanguard for the entirety of the upcoming weekend. Activision hasn’t explained how this will work, but we can assume that it will be no different from previous free multiplayer weekends for older Call of Duty titles.
Will the Call of Duty: Vanguard free access weekend include everything?
Unlike previous free access weekends launched by Activision though, the first such event for Call of Duty: Vanguard comes with zero limitations. This means that everyone can access everything that the game has to offer, from maps to modes and playlists. Also, while Activision hasn’t confirmed it yet, but we can assume that any progress you make during the demo will carry over to the full game in case you purchase Vanguard after.
What’s next for Call of Duty: Vanguard?
It’s safe to say that Vanguard’s low sales in the UK were enough to sound alarms over at Activision. It’s only been weeks since Vanguard was met with a lukewarm reception by critics and audiences alike. For Activision to launch a free access weekend this early on is a sign that the company is no longer happy with the way things are going. It will be interesting to see if the decline is big enough to prompt Activision to rethink and reconsider its current strategy. In the meantime, feel free to start clearing your schedule as you try and give Vanguard a whirl while also playing the free-to-play multiplayer component of Halo Infinite, which was released on November 15.
