Are Xbox owners getting a GoldenEye 007 remake?
Technically, there was a GoldenEye 007 remake in development years ago. Audiences even got a chance to see an incomplete build in action earlier this year. But while that was of a canceled game, eagle-eyed observers believe that they have found proof that GoldenEye 007 is headed to Xbox consoles in its remastered form.
— Wario64 (@Wario64) January 1, 2022 The James Bond series turns 60 this year, which means that the company behind the franchise has a good reason to celebrate something. Among other things, fans would love to see a re-release of GoldenEye 007 for modern platforms, even if it’s exclusive to the Xbox One and/or Xbox Series S/X. Although no studio has confirmed and announced a GoldenEye 007 remaster just yet, there is evidence that it exists. According to Wario64, there are achievement pictures and a GoldenEye 007 thumbnail found on the Xbox data files. If we believe that the list of achievements is true, which it probably is, then it’s only a matter of time before GoldenEye 007 heads to the Xbox. If that’s the case, then James Bond fans can rejoice. This is especially since the achievements leak indicates that both the campaign and multiplayer are included in the remaster. In other James Bond news, 2021’s No Time to Die, which ruled the global box office for a short while, might be the last James Bond film that we’ll get to see for a while. But, if it’s any consolation, several actors have thrown their hat inside the ring to play the next Bond. The long list of actors who wants to play the debonaire spy includes Tom Holland, Ryan Reynolds, and even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Also, we just learned a bit more about IO Interactive’s James Bond game earlier this year.
