According to Adrien Perea, GTA 6 will come out in 2025. Although Perea isn’t the first leaker to claim that the upcoming open-world crime game will launch three years from now, the timetable makes sense. Rockstar’s confirmation of the GTA 6 leaks suggests that the game is still in the early stages of its development. As a matter of fact, 2025 is probably still very early. After all, Take-Two Interactive didn’t list GTA 6 as part of its massive pipeline of new games through the next three years. It wouldn’t surprise us if the actual release date for GTA 6 is 2026 if not later. Having said that, the leaker’s credibility lends weight to their words. Most recently, Perea leaked info about the delay of Forspoken and Hogwarts Legacy into January and February, respectively, as well as Skull and Bones’ release date in November, and even the 1.6 update for Cyberpunk 2077. On the other hand, Perea also has other leaks that haven’t come true (yet). For example, Perea claimed that Rockstar canceled remasters of Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Dead Redemption. Perea is also among those who leaked info about the still-unconfirmed PC port of Ghost of Tsushima. If what Perea and other leaks are saying about GTA 6’s 2025 release date is true, it will mark the halfway point of the lifecycle of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. By that time, the two would have already sold a combined total of 100 million units if not more. The availability of both current-gen consoles is important to make sure that GTA 6 can capture at least a quarter of the commercial success of GTA 5. At the same time, it’s far out enough that GTA 6 won’t affect the enduring popularity of GTA 5. Rockstar Games remains mum about a potential launch window for GTA 6 after confirming the game’s existence earlier this year. As the developers deal with the fallout of the leak, and the arrest of the suspected perpetrator, all fans can do is wait patiently and hope that this fiasco hasn’t had a negative impact on the game’s progress.
