Marvel Studios effectively “won” the San Diego Comic-Con after being absent for three years. The announcements of the projected slate for Phase 5 and Phase 6 had overshadowed every other major pop culture news at the time, particularly Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. But it appears that it was only a taste of what is in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with what promises to be a packed D23 Expo. What new revelations does Marvel have up its sleeve? And what about Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise? Check out the details parent company Disney has released so far about D23 below.
Marvel Pavilion
According to the official D23 website, fans will have the opportunity to explore a Marvel Studios Pavilion. This will be held at the show floor of the D23 Expo and will include costume displays, exclusive Marvel giveaways, a photo activation, and more surprises in store.
— Disney D23 (@DisneyD23) August 2, 2022 There will also be shopDisney booth stocked with Marvel merchandise. Avengers, Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for purchase, along with related products at retailer booths. Interestingly, X-Men and Fantastic Four merchandise are not mentioned specifically. There are rumors that D23 will have news about the inevitable mutant-related projects and the Fantastic Four film that were missing from the SDCC presentation.
Panels to be held
The official press release from Disney lists the following as the confirmed events and specifics, as of this date:

Hall D23 Presentation
Schedule: Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m. PT Location: Hall D23
Marvel Comics: Celebrating 60 Years of the Amazing Spider-Man
Schedule: Saturday, September 10, 2–3 p.m. PT Location: Backlot Stage
Signings with Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and Executive Editor Nick Lowe
Schedule: Saturday, September 10, 5:30–6:30 p.m. PT Location: Talent Central The press release for D33 Expo also mentions that there will be additional details, including current and future plans for Marvel Games, as the event gets closer. Although the SDCC panel revealed most of the film slate for the next major phases of the MCU, there were surprisingly only two trailers shown: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Given that Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special is going to effectively close the current Phase 4, the absence of teasers or full trailers for this and the first few Phase 5 projects was surprising. However, it is likely that Marvel Studios president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige reserved the first looks of GotG: Holiday Special, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and Secret Invasion for the D23 Expo.
Sold out
Unfortunately, the D23 Expo is sold out and no additional tickets are planned to be sold. However, select presentations will be available for streaming for members of D23. More information will be provided at the official website in the coming weeks. Users of the D23 Expo app will also be notified through updates. D23 Expo will begin with a kickoff on September 9, 2022.
