If you take a look at the list of the highest-grossing superhero films, the only DCEU movie in the Top 10 is 2018’s Aquaman, which stars Jason Mamoa as the titular DC superhero, with a worldwide lifetime gross of $1,148,161,807. The rest of the list is populated mostly by MCU films, including the top spot, which is held by 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, with a lifetime gross of $2,797,800,564. With that said, any hopes of the DCEU getting another movie onto the top 10 will have to wait until the COVID-19 pandemic is over....

EA might have a troubled history with the Star Wars franchise, but its subsidiaries have almost always done the source material justice. Case in point, 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by Respawn Entertainment and 2020’s Star Wars Squadrons by Motive Studios. Now, it’s just confirmed something that fans have known for a while - Respawn is working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Reports of a Fallen Order sequel first emerged last year with one insider believing that EA will reveal the game soon and another claiming that it’s going to be released later this year....

According to GamesIndustry.biz, an EA spokesperson revealed that the company has decided to shut down Project CARS to focus on games that are “socially-led with long-term live services.” On a similar note, a different employee revealed that EA is also canceling the Dirt franchise. The cancelation of both Project CARS and DIRT franchises makes for unfortunate news but it’s far from unexpected. You could say that the writing was already on the proverbial wall as soon as Electronic Arts bought Codemasters for $1....

However, it appears that EA is bucking trends. According to the publisher’s Q1 FY23 earnings results, EA’s net bookings (i.e. sales) exceeded its expectations at $1.3 billion. In total, Q1’s net revenue was $1.77 billion. EA points out that this strong performance is due to the strength of the “FIFA franchise and the F1 22 launch.” More interestingly, EA CEO, Andrew Wilson, also shared how he thinks that “games are the social networks of the future....

Tom Henderson confirmed that Skate 4 will finally materialize again two years after its first announcement. The statement is also in line with EA’s recent comments about the state of Skate. In addition to this, EA has four “unannounced” titles scheduled to come out between January 1, 2023, and March 31, 2023. Since one of these “secret” titles includes a Sports game, Skate 4 could come out by spring 2023....

Although the creator of the Darksiders franchise won’t be developing the game, that doesn’t make Biomutant any less interesting. Set thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings, the upcoming fantasy epic is partly based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion. Aliens: Fireteam is the latest title set in the sci-fi horror franchise.
